Borax Crystals!
On Wednesday we made borax crystals. We used borax (Cleaning agent), boiling water, a glass jar, spoon, string, pipe cleaner, a pencil and food dye (If you wanted). First we had to do a sheet. Mrs Blatti gave me a pipe cleaner and a piece of string. I tied a pencil to the piece of string. Then I cut the pipe cleaner into three equal pieces. I then made the pipe cleaner into a snowflake shape. Then I tied the pipe cleaner to the pencil tied to the string. After a while Mrs Blatti called my name. I went up and took the pipe cleaner, pencil and string out. Mrs Blatti put two spoons os borax into the glass jar. Then she poured sme boiling water in. Then she asked me "What colour food dye do you want?" I said "Blue please." So she put a drop of blue food dye in the glass jar. Then she just left it on the table.

Next Wednesday came. Our crystals had grown fully. Mrs Blatti told us to finish off the sheet we did last week. When I finished Mrs Blatti called my name to pour the water out. When the water was out my crystal looked a little bit blue. I cut the string off the pencil. Then I left the crystal in the jar. I was happy of what I did.

On Wednesday the 28th of October Mrs Blatti and my class made a fire extinguisher. My partner was Athina. We used a plastic bottle, playdo, a straw that bends, vinegar, bi-carb soda, a candle, measuring spoons, matches and a paper plate. Ours was a success!!! This is how we did it. We got all of the equipment and ingredients. We got the bottle and used the measuring spoons to measure how much bi-carb soda we needed. Then Mrs Blatti lit the candle. Mrs Blatti told us to get ready to
put the playdo stuck to the straw on the bottle. She poured some vinegar and we quickly put the straw and playdo on. Ours didn't have any holes on the playdo so the gas didn't escape.

On Wednesday my class made our own experiment up. My partner was
Athina. We made a perfume. We used flower petals, oil, dishwashing
liquid, cold water, a pop top bottle, a tea spoon, a cup, a spoon and a plate.
This is what we did. First we poured water into a cup. Then we got some oil and poured it into another cup. Then we put a cup under a plate and poured
3 teaspoons of oil (At the end we poured all of it in.) We poured 5 spoon fulls
of water. We mixed it for about 2 minutes.then we dropped in a few petals.
We waited for a while and then added some more water in. Then we waited
for 10 minutes. It was a success!!! It smelt wonderful. I had alot of fun
making our perfume. WOO HOO!!
